African-American Read-In 2017

St. Thomas’s Day School Celebrates Black History Month with Annual African-American Read-In

In Chapel every Monday through Thursday during the month of February our Upper School students (4th-6th Grade) and their teachers read letters, books, and poetry from African-American authors. We understand that one of the best ways for the school to embrace Black History is to read and listen to the words of African-American authors as they express their thoughts and experiences about life in America. Our readers have worked hard to choose insightful, comforting, and challenging readings that reflect their growing understanding of Black History.
